The Opening of HeartMade Baking Co.

Welcome to the grand opening of HeartMade Baking Co., a home baking operation that strives to supply fresh homemade baked goods to everyone we can reach. We are located in Murphy, TX and work under the Texas Cottage Food Law that allows us to use our own home kitchen to make and bake these delicious treats just for you.

Our story begins with a simple question; "Why aren't you selling these?" I have always enjoyed baking and gifting my baked goods to others. Knowing I spread some joy though the sweet treats I make brings a smile to my face. When I would give them away I would get very similar questions: "Can I buy some?" "When will you make more?" "Why aren't you selling these?" With that, I have finally decided to do it, you can buy some, I will make more and I am selling them.

There were quite a few steps in between that decision and now. First I had to figure out if this was even possible, if I could sell my baking just from my home kitchen. Turns out there is a law allowing it and a whole community of people who do the same thing that I want to do. So, after some research into the Texas Cottage Food Law, I prepared myself to meet all of the requirements. I made labels to specification, with some fun flare, got my food handlers license and made sure my menu was up to the task.

Speaking of the menu, I wanted to make sure that our menu is made up of a good blend of classics and some rotating seasonal favorites. I picked out the things that I love the most, and that I get the most requested. Our menu may have a limited selection for now but that just means that we can focus on what we do offer and make that the very best!

As this is an ever changing menu, your feedback is invaluable! I want to know if you agree with my classic choices, what you think would be the best additions, and I definitely want to know your opinion on our baked goods. Please give me your honest thoughts though the feedback survey on our website or shoot me an email. I will also put up polls from time to time, so subscribe to our mailing list if you want to be kept in the loop about those and any other updates.

These updates will likely be for menu changes or changes to our ordering system as we test everything out. In the future there might be even bigger changes to our little bakery, but for now we'll take it one baked good at a time.
